Purpose

The University recognizes a staff employee may be employed outside of the University.

 

Policy

1) A staff employee may be employed outside the University as long as the employee adheres to the following requirements.

    Purpose

    Human Resources (HR) Temporary Employment provides temporary staffing for the University. HR Temporary Employment offers assistance with human resource planning and allows qualified applicants to gain University work experience while seeking regular staff employment and allows administration of temporary services from a central location within the University.  HR Student Employment provides a free job posting, screening, and referral service to assist University departments, Lexington businesses and private employers with hiring employees.

    16.1

    Policy

     

    The University of Kentucky normally employs only persons age eighteen (18) years and older in regular full-time staff positions. Minors may be employed as student employees if they are students of the University of Kentucky as stipulated in Human Resources Policy and Procedure Number 4.0: Employee Status. In addition minors may be employed as temporary and part-time employees.

    Purpose

    The University of Kentucky normally employees only persons age 18 years and older in regular full-time staff positions. Minors may be employed as student employees if they are students of the University. In addition, minors may be employed as temporary employees in accordance with Kentucky State Law. Any person under 18 years of age is considered a minor under Kentucky law.

    Policy

     

    The University recognizes that former regular full-time or regular half-time staff employees may be recalled to the University position previously held by the employee or may elect to reapply for University employment. Under certain conditions defined within this policy and within one year from the date of separation, a recalled or rehired staff employee shall have reinstated certain benefits of the employee's previous University employment.

    The University recognizes that former regular full-time or regular half-time staff employees may be recalled or rehired to a University position or may elect to reapply for University employment. Under certain conditions defined within this policy and within one (1) year from the date of separation, a recalled, a rehired, or a reemployed staff employee shall have reinstated certain benefits of the employee's previous University employment.

    Purpose

    The University recognizes that former regular staff employees with a full-time equivalent (FTE) of 0.5 or greater may be recalled or rehired to a University position or may elect to reapply for University employment. Under certain conditions defined within this policy and within one year (365 days) from the date of separation, a recalled, rehired or reemployed employee shall have certain benefits reinstated to them.
