How do I find a Federal Work Study job?

To apply for Federal Work Study, you must complete a FAFSA. After you file your FAFSA, confirm your award with the Federal Work Study office. Once you are qualified, you can go to ukjobs.uky.edu and apply to any job under the “Student” tab that has the prefix FWS. If you have questions about how to file a FAFSA, if you qualify or the hiring process, you can contact the Federal Work Study office on the first floor of the Funkhouser Building. Visit www.uky.edu/financialaid/content/federal-work-study, call 859-218-2001 or email FWS@uky.edu for more information.

Some jobs expire soon. Should I still apply?

Yes. The date we list is arbitrary. We set the deadline to apply to ensure our website is up to date. This deadline allows us to confirm with employers if their positions are still available. This date does not necessarily reflect the employer’s deadline to hire.

What is STEPS?
