The personal training program is designed to help you meet your fitness and health goals through one-on-one training with an exercise specialist.

FOR MOVEWELL MEMBERS Fitness class schedule

Whether you want to focus on strengthening muscle, getting your heart rate up or improving your flexibility, we offer a variety of online and in-person classes. New schedules are offered in fall, spring and summer. You must re-register each semester. Membership is required.

FOR ALL UK EMPLOYEES Resources on and off campus

There are many beautiful walking locations in and around Lexington. Walking for at least 30 minutes a day can help improve your blood pressure and blood sugar levels, reduce cholesterol and lower your risk for diabetes, colon cancer, breast cancer, osteoporosis and possibly depression. A low-impact form of exercise, walking can also be easier on the joints than running or other fitness activities.

We will have plenty of important elder care of offerings this fall

  It’s been a busy and productive summer facilitating elder care consultations and planning activities and workshops for the upcoming 2025-26 year. I invite you to join me for a season of great programing for everyone. Beginning in August, we kick-off with an informative workshop covering updates to the Family Medical Leave and Elder Care Leave benefits. You don’t want to miss this one.

Take your workout outside!

Walk around the block, the yard, a trail or any other outdoor venue for 5 minutes to warm up.  Go to the curb or step and do step-ups. Alternating your lead foot, do 3 sets of 10 reps.  Find a tree or other vertical surface and do wall push-ups. Do 3 sets of 10 reps.   Heavy rocks or flower pots are great for weights - find the best weight for you and do squats. Do 3 sets of 10 reps..
