Purpose

Any University employee who is injured or incurs an occupational disease or death, normally without regard to fault, as a result of University employment, is covered by the Kentucky Worker’s Compensation Act, the University's Workers' Compensation Program, and the University of Kentucky Worker’s Care Program Managed Care Organization.

    Policy

     

    It is the policy of the University to insure regular full-time employees on the first day of the month after completion of one full year of employment under the long term total disability program. The long term total disability program is intended soley to make monetary benefits available to an employee in the event of long term total disability and is not a job protection program.

      The University provides long term disability coverage for regular full-time employees on the first day of the month after completion of one year of full-time employment under the long term total disability program. To be covered, an employee must be actively at work on this date. The long term total disability (LTD) program is intended solely to make monetary benefits available to an employee in the event of long term total disability and is not a job protection program.

    It is the policy of the University to assist all active, regular full-time staff employees who are enrolled in a health care plan or plans by contributing toward the cost of the employee's coverage.

    94.1 Policy
      The University assists regular full-time employees who are enrolled in health care plans by crediting an amount toward the health care plan's premium. This amount is referred to as the health care plan credit (hereafter referred to as the credit.).
      94.1.1 Certain retirees, surviving spouses of eligible spouses and employees who have been approved for long term disability benefits are also eligible for the credit.

    Purpose
