87.1 Policy
  Regular full-time and half-time staff employees who have accrued a minimum of sixty-six (66) days of temporary disability leave have a conversion option for extra vacation leave or credit toward retirement. It is the intention of this policy and its entitlements to reward loyal, long-time employees who remain healthy as well as to encourage employees to use temporary disability leave only when necessary.

    Policy

     

    The University provides flex leave for a regular full-time staff employee in a position which has been established as a nine (9) or more, but less than twelve (12), month position. A position determined eligible for flex leave must be justified as being in the best interest of the University.

These positions are called “flex leave positions.” Employees in these positions work full-time at least nine (9) months but less than twelve (12) months per year.

    Purpose

    A regular staff employee may be authorized special leave from University employment for reasons other than those normally provided by other policies within this Personnel A.R. The primary consideration for authorizing such special leave shall be that it serves the best interest of the University of Kentucky.
