The University maintains a personnel file on each staff employee for the purpose of review as appropriate. The University takes all appropriate steps to protect the privacy of personal information contained in personnel files. The President designates the Official Records Custodian.

    Purpose

    The University maintains a human resources file on each staff employee. The University takes appropriate steps to protect  the privacy of personal information contained in human resources files. The President designates the official records custodian.

    Policy

    An official human resources file for all staff employees will be retained in Human Resources Office of Records (Records).

    5.1 Policy 



    It is the intention of the University of Kentucky to define staff positions in a manner which will support and promote sound human resources and administrative practices. Broad employment categories have been established and defined. These categories assist the University in complying with appropriate federal and state laws as well as University intent. It is the responsibility of Human Resource Services to categorize positions as follows:

    Purpose

      3.1.1 To administer these Administrative Regulations, there is continuous interpretation of the intent and the effect of these Administrative Regulations. Human Resource Services is available for interpretation of these policies. The Director of Human Resource Services is responsible for final interpretation and will decide necessity for reviews, interpretations or possible revisions of the policies.
