82.1 Policy
  Any regular full-time or half-time staff employee who suffers temporary sickness or incapacitation thus making the employee unable to perform assigned duties shall be granted temporary disability leave in accordance with the provisions in this policy. It is the intent of this policy to provide leave for temporary disability occurrences that normally have a reasonably predictable time frame, encompassing an onset and an end of the condition.

    Purpose

    Temporary Disability Leave (TDL) is available for regular employees with a full-time equivalent (FTE) of 0.5 or greater. It is the intent of this policy to provide leave for employees who have an illness or injury which prevents them from performing their jobs on a temporary basis, or to care for eligible family members within the guidelines of this policy.

    81.1.1

    Any regular full-time or half-time staff employee, separating from employment with the University , shall be eligible to receive wages or salary for accumulated vacation leave which is unused at the date of separation, based on the following criteria:

    The staff employee must have completed successfully new regular staff employee probation.

      81.1.1 Any regular full-time or half-time staff employee, separating from employment with the University, shall be eligible to receive compensation for accumulated vacation leave which is unused at the date of separation, based on this policy.
      81.1.2 The staff employee must have completed new regular staff employee orientation.

    Purpose

    Any regular staff employee with a full-time equivalent (FTE) of 0.5 or greater, and separating from the University, shall be eligible to receive compensation for accrued vacation leave which is unused at the date of separation, as defined in this policy.

    Policy

    1) The employee must have successfully completed the new hire orientation period to be eligible for terminal vacation pay.

    2) The employee must separate in “good standing” to receive terminal vacation pay.

    The University of Kentucky provides vacation with pay to any regular full-time or half-time staff employee. Vacations are to be scheduled at times that are most convenient to the department with due consideration given to the staff employee's preference.
