Day camps run on a week-by-week basis throughout the summer following the Fayette County schools schedule, beginning the week after the last day of school in the spring and ending the Friday before the week school resumes, typically the last week of May through the second week of August.

Newton’s Attic STEM day camps offer a mix of robotics, coding, chemistry, and pre-engineering in the areas of mechanical, electrical and aerospace systems, tailored to students in 1st-10th grades. Small classes with personalized instruction allow participants to learn skills including basic physics and engineering principles, the design process, and hand and power tool use. Over 50 unique classes are taught by professional teachers, engineers, university students, and community leaders.
Newton’s Attic summer STEM day camps are offered on a week-by-week basis on site at the two-building, 5-acre facility in Lexington. Our facility includes full wood and metal working shops, 3D printers and computer labs, and a wide variety of workspaces that host programs for school-aged students in all areas of pre-engineering. Programs are designed to be immersive, project-based, and engage students’ curiosity while teaching needed skills for life and careers in STEM industries. Class offerings include Lego Robotics, Robo Coding, Camp Catapult, Rube Goldberg Machines, three levels of Minecraft Mods using the game as a vehicle to teaching computer coding to younger students, Kerbal Space Program, Python Coding for Game Development, App Development, three levels of Chemistry for different age groups, Robot Gladiators, Small Engine Rebuild, Fig Newtons, Nerf Gun Mods, Spy Gear, 3D Printing, and more. Youth Paddle Club is a program designed to engage young people in paddle sports, fostering both skill development and an appreciation for outdoor activities. Youth have the opportunity to connect with others who share their interests, build confidence on the water, and develop a lifelong love for paddling.
We will paddle on either the Kentucky River or the Elkhorn Creek. We will have the opportunity to utilize different paddling vessels depending on the weather and water conditions.
Youth Paddle Club includes:
