Recognition can feel most meaningful when it happens among the co-workers you work with every day. There are many reasons to create an award at the level of your division, college or even your team. Consider the morale boost getting recognized provides for individuals, and how awards set and reset the bar for continued achievements among the entire group.  Because Staff Senate hosts the university-wide Outstanding Staff Awards, we're often asked by leaders how to start an award program in their area.

Recognizing years of service

Our colleagues make meaningful contributions to the university's mission, and many of us have served our students, patients and communities for years. Beyond the one-year anniversary mark, consider also celebrating "years of service" milestones for your team. "Years of service" refers to the number of years an employee has worked for the university.  The university makes these milestones easy to celebrate with service award pins. You'll find 3 styles of pins available to you and your team.
