Purpose

The University makes available group accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance coverage for all regular employees with a full-time equivalent (FTE) of 0.75 or greater and others as designated by the University Administrative Regulations.

Policy

The group AD&D insurance provides a benefit for an employee and/or the employee’s beneficiary(ies) in the event of accidental death or dismemberment.

  • Group life insurance coverage is available for regular full-time staff employees and dependents, and others as designated by the University Administrative Regulations.

    Policy

    The terms of the group life insurance policy issued by the current insurance carrier, selected by the University, are binding on all participants.

    1. The University group life insurance is term insurance and no cash value accumulates. The policy provides for payment of a principal sum to a designated beneficiary (ies) upon the death of the employee.

    The University provides benefits programs for employees and their immediate dependents. The University attempts to provide plans that offer the best benefits at a reasonable cost to employees.

    Policy

    The cost of most University benefits plans is determined by the University’s own group experience, and therefore, premiums are determined by the claims paid on behalf of University group members.
