Eric is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and UK Health and Wellness Therapist. He has over 20 years of experience working with clients of different ages, genders, races, economic classes, ethnicities and sexualities. He specializes in mindfulness-based psychotherapies, brief interventions, existential and cognitive behavioral therapies. In 2010-11, he participated in a fellowship program with the National Childhood Traumatic Stress Network under Drs. Judith Cohen and Anthony Mannarino. In 2016-19, Eric developed a mindfulness based self-regulation toolkit that was adopted by the KVC Institute for Health Systems Innovation as a participant in the "Change in Mind: Applying Neurosciences to Revitalize Communities, a Three-year Initiative of the Alliance for Strong Families and Communities." Eric trained and supervised over 30 social workers in implementing the toolkit. In 2017-19, he held a leadership role in KVC Kentucky's participation in SAMHSA's Project AWARE grant with Fayette County Schools, which aimed to improve student mental health by training staff, providing resources, and expanding access to mental health services, including counseling and support groups. At the 2017 Kentucky Society of Clinical Social Work Winter Conference, Eric was one of two keynote speakers on mindfulness and psychotherapy.

Eric is certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Parent Child Interaction Therapy. He uses creative therapeutic techniques incorporating art, music, and narrative in his practice. Eric takes a collaborative approach and supports clients in mobilizing their strengths and values in pursuit of their goals. He approaches clients with curiosity, compassion, and openness. He enjoys giving presentations and workshops at professional conferences and for groups. Eric taught in the UK College of Social Work between 2014-20, including teaching and training social work graduate students in Integrated Behavioral Health interventions as part of a Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) grant awarded to UK’s College of Social Work, in collaboration with faculty in the College of Health Sciences and College of Medicine.
