New limited purpose flexible spending account for Saver health insurance members
Starting July 1, 2020, you can have the HSA that comes with Saver insurance plus a limited-purpose health FSA.
Because our Saver insurance plan comes with a health savings account (HSA), you cannot legally enroll in a regular health flexible spending account (FSA).
During open enrollment this year, you have the option in myUK to add a limited-purpose health FSA if you're enrolling in Saver or if you're already on the Saver plan.
Flexible spending accounts offer tax advantages. Consider enrolling in an FSA if — in the year ahead — you plan to pay out-of-pocket for medical expenses not covered by your health insurance.
While our regular health FSA includes eligible expenses in health, dental and vision categories, the limited-purpose health FSA only covers expenses for dental and vision. General health services and products are excluded from the limited-purpose FSA to prevent "double-dipping" with your HSA. ASI Flex administers our FSAs and they can provide more information about eligible expenses.
There are no restrictions on the dependent care FSA for Saver insurance members.
