UK HealthCare has several options for establishing a primary care physician for you and your family.
All services are offered at the Kentucky Clinic and are available to new or established patients.
Primary Care is also offered at other locations outside of Lexington in Georgetown, Hazard and Hindman.
Options for receiving health care
We know access to a health care provider is important to you and your family. That’s why we have several options.
No matter which health insurance plan you choose, you’ll always pay less if you choose to see a UK HealthCare provider. You can also explore these options that are available to you as a UK employee.
New locations available to care for our employees and their covered family members
The primary care clinic in Hamburg opened in May 2024, accepting appointments for adults and pediatric primary care. The primary care clinic in Frankfort opened March 31, 2025, and is accepting appointments for adult primary care. Two additional clinics will be available in Richmond and Fayette.

Primary Care
Team Blue Clinic
Team Blue is dedicated solely to UK employees and their family members who are on a UK health insurance plan.
The clinic, located at Kentucky Clinic South off Harrodsburg Road, offers routine primary care as well as same-day appointments when you’re sick.
The clinic has physicians and advanced practice registered nurses who can also coordinate treatment across specialties and subspecialties.
Urgent and acute care
If you have an urgent medical concern and need to be seen by someone before your primary care provider is available, UK HealthCare offers an emergency clinic at University Health Service Building for employees and their family members on a UK health insurance plan.
While this clinic isn’t a replacement for your primary care provider, you can make a same-day appointment from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday by calling (859) 323-7425.
