EyeMed extends support to employees affected by flooding
EyeMed, provider of UK's vision insurance plans, has support available to covered employees who were affected by the recent flooding in eastern Kentucky.
Covered employees in Breathitt, Clay, Floyd, Knott, Leslie, Letcher, Magoffin, Martin, Owsley, Perry, Pike and Wolfe counties can contact EyeMed for the following support:
- Temporary adjustable glasses: If immediate materials are needed, call (866) 652-0018 to expedite shipping at no cost. These glasses enable individuals to adjust for different distances and switch focus for reading, computer and distance. For members displaced with no immediate address, EyeMed can work with them to determine a location where they can be picked up.
- Free shipping for glasses and contacts: Glasses.com and ContactsDirect.com are offering free, expedited shipping. EyeMed agents can provide affected members with discount codes for use online.
Related to Kentucky's State of Emergency, EyeMed will extend the period for premiums, co-payments, deductibles and other charges through August 31, 2022; not take action such as canceling policies or implementing rate increases until notice can be given; supply upon request a copy of a policy without charge; and apply in-network benefits to out-of-network claims.
