Step-by-step process

Login to myUK

Use myUK and go to the employee self-service tab. First, you'll enter your linkblue ID and password and click “sign on.” (This is the ID/password you use to log into your Exchange e-mail account, or in some cases, to log into SAP.

1. Benefits and payment

Click the “Employee Self Service” tab in the dark blue bar. Then click “Benefits and Payment.” 

2. Access Benefits

Click on the “Hire,” “EE Change in Status,” “ACA Eligible to Full,” “Gain ACA Credit,” or “Anytime” link under the “Benefits” header. You will only have two of these options, one for your reason to add benefits and the “Anytime” option, which allows you to update your beneficiaries at any time of the year.





3. Personal profile

Step 1 will show your current Personal Profile.  You may edit your personal profile by clicking "Edit Personal Profile." After viewing or making changes, click the close button to close the pop-up.

For all edits, please make sure you do not have a pop-up blocker on, as this will prevent a window from opening.



4. Dependents and beneficiaries

Step 2 will show any dependents and beneficiaries you have added. You may add or edit your Dependents and Beneficiaries by clicking on “Add or Edit Beneficiaries.”  After viewing or making changes, click the close button to close the pop-up.

Dependents must be “valid from” the date of hire or change in status date, otherwise they will not show up as options to be added to health, dental, vision, or life plans.



5.Benefits Summary

Step 3 will show benefits you are currently enrolled in.



6. Health plans

Step 4 will show health plans. Click on the pencil to edit or paper with plus sign to add (if available). If adding dependents, you will make sure to choose the correct level of coverage and check each dependent you wish to add to each plan.



7. Insurance plans

Step 5 will show insurance plans. Click on the pencil to edit or paper with plus sign to add (if available). If adding beneficiaries, the primary and/or contingent percentages must each equal 100%.



8. Savings plans

Step 6 will show insurance plans. Click on the pencil to edit or paper with plus sign to add (if available). If adding matching retirement, your total contribution must equal 5%. If adding an HSA contribution, please enter the amount you wish to have deducted per paycheck.



9. Flexible spending accounts

Step 7 will show flexible spending accounts. Click on the pencil to edit or paper with plus sign to add (if available). Please enter the amount you wish to have deducted for the fiscal year.



10. Review and save

Review your election and click “Save” to complete your election process. review and save.

Note: you will receive an email confirming changes have been made to your benefits. If you do not receive this email or have any questions, please call (859) 257-9555 and press option 3 to speak with a Benefits Customer Service Representative. We recommend you print the final Review step in order to have record of changes you made.

Annual period for employees to convert temporary disability leave to vacation leave now available through April 30

The annual period for University of Kentucky employees to convert their temporary disability leave (TDL) to additional vacation leave (VL) is now available through April 30.   Employees may request conversion of TDL hours to additional vacation leave through Employee Self Service in myUK. Employees should log into myUK, access Employee Self Service and select Working Time and Leave Requests.

UK Retail Pharmacies launches prescription delivery service to campus buildings

The Apothecary, a UK Retail Pharmacy, has launched a new program to deliver prescriptions to offices on UK’s campus. The new service aims to provide a convenient and accessible way for employees to get their medications — without having to leave their office.
