Aphasia in everyday life: Tools for better communication and connection
This presentation provides an overview of aphasia and the communication changes that often accompany it. Caregivers will learn why their loved one may have difficulty finding words, need extra time to respond, seem to ignore them, withdraw from previously enjoyed activities, or sometimes be unable to respond at all. Participants will gain practical, evidence-based communication strategies to reduce frustration, ease everyday interactions, and strengthen meaningful connections with their loved one.
Presenter: Christen G. Page, PhD, CCC-SLP Associate Professor UK Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders
