Wildcat Check-in Week Supporting Campus Mental Health

Wildcat Check-in Week is a campus-wide initiative dedicated to promoting mental health and suicide prevention. Led by Student Well-Being and coordinated by Prevention, Outreach and Wellness Education Resources (POWER), this event brings together a network of University campus partners—including UK HR Health and Wellness and the UK HealthCare Healthy Kentucky Initiative—to create a supportive environment for all students, faculty and staff.

Wildcat Check-in Week is designed to encourage the entire campus community to pause, reflect, and prioritize their mental health. Whether you’re a student, staff member or faculty member, this initiative offers accessible opportunities to check in on your well-being, connect with resources and learn strategies for maintaining mental health.

Staff from the UK Counseling Center, TRACS and Employee Wellness will be available at two convenient campus locations:
  • The 90
  • Chandler Hospital North Lobby
These professionals are ready to answer questions, provide guidance and connect you with resources tailored to your needs. Their presence ensures that everyone has access to confidential support and expert advice.

During this Mental Health Check-In event, you are invited to:

  • Complete a confidential mental health screening tool: Take a few minutes to assess your well-being in a private, supportive setting. The screening is designed to help you identify areas where you may need support and connect you with appropriate resources.
  • Learn about campus support resources: Discover the wide range of services available, from counseling and wellness programs to outreach initiatives. Staff will provide information and answer questions to help you navigate the support system.
  • Engage in conversations about mental health: Open dialogue is encouraged. Whether you’re seeking help for yourself or looking to support others, Wildcat Check-in Week is a safe space to talk about mental health and suicide prevention.

Mental health matters to everyone. Taking time to check in on your well-being can make a significant difference in your academic, professional and personal life. Wildcat Check-in Week is an opportunity to:
  • Reduce stigma surrounding mental health and suicide prevention.
  • Build resilience by learning coping strategies and accessing support.
  • Connect with others who care about your well-being.
