Getting (Re)Started with Fitness series: the Why
The Getting (Re)Started with Fitness is a four-week series for beginners or those individuals who have not been consistent with exercise. Each presentation is designed to build on the information from the week before, so it's recommended that individuals register for all four.
In this first session, Carrie Davidson, exercise physiologist with UK HR Health and Wellness, will kick off the series by helping you answer the question of "why?" Unpack the reasons of why you signed up, why you showed up and why you want to get started.
The remaining offerings in the series will be:
- Week 2: How? - 11/12
- How you should exercise in way that is appropriate for you based on age, gender and special considerations.
- Week 3: Goal setting - 11/19
- Utilizing the SMART goals worksheet, we'll work on creating specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time bound goals. Create your plan!
- Week 4: Resources - 11/26
- Are you located on or off campus? What equipment do you have available to you? Better understand resources available to you online or in nature.
Note: If you are unable to attend all four of the presentations in this series, they will be recorded. All registered participants will receive the recordings.
