Join this virtual training and learn about these three simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide: question, persuade and refer (QPR).

Suicide is everyone's business. We must look out for one another. Just like fitness instructors and physicians have to know CPR, but it's good for everyone else to know it too — everyone benefits from learning QPR.

People trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to get a person at risk the help they need. You might be surprised and may find it useful at some point in your life with someone you know and care about. With QPR training you can learn how to save the life of a student, friend, colleague, family member or neighbor.

In as little as 1½ hours you can learn to recognize the warning signs of suicide and how to apply three simple steps that may save a life. Presented by a certified QPR instructor, each QPR training includes information on:

  • Common myths and facts associated with suicide
  • Methods for persuading suicidal individuals to get help
  • Tips for asking the suicide question
  • Warning signs of suicide
  • Ways of referring at-risk people to local resources

Included in the training is time dedicated to answering your questions. Each attendee will receive a QPR booklet and card with information on suicide prevention, as well as resource information for treatment providers and support groups within their community.
