About Provider Orientation Week

Beginning in 2026, Enterprise Learning and the College of Medicine are partnering on a new Provider Orientation Week, held during the first full week of each month.

This week will include:

  • New Provider Orientation (NPO): Monday/Tuesday
  • APP/New Faculty Orientation AM/Departmental Orientation PM: Wednesday
  • EPIC Training: Thursday
  • BRIC Academy: Friday
     

Teams facilitating these sessions are working together, but registration on this page ONLY registers new providers for New Provider Orientation (NPO), EPIC Training, and BRIC Academy. Please ensure you are registering providers separately for New Faculty Orientation (NFO). BRIC Academy: Relationship-Centered Communication

Building Relationships through Intentional Communication. An evidence-based peer-led workshop proven to enhance communication skills among clinicians and across health care teams.

  • Quickly and efficiently set the visit agenda while allowing the patient to tell their story.

  • Recognize emotion and respond with empathy to ensure the patient feels heard and respected.

  • Deliver information in a way that is understandable to patients; a new way of thinking about teach back.

  • Utilize shared decision making, making it more likely that patients will follow recommendations.

Provider Information

Will this provider see patients in an outpatient clinic?
Will this provider see patients in the hospital?
Will this provider work with radiation?
Has this provider been a UKHC employee in the past (including Good Samaritan, Chandler, etc.)? If yes, please provide date of departure and provider's role at the time (e.g. resident, APRN, etc.).

Please include any additional information here.

  • Does the provider have any dietary restrictions?
  • Does the provider already have an ID Badge? If so, is it correct for their new position?
Choose an orientation session

Orientation sessions are held over three days between 8:00am-5:00pm. Schedule breakdown depends on specialty area. 

Faculty members should register for the first Provider Orientation Week offered in any month that there are two offerings, such as July/August, as New Faculty Orientation (NFO) is only held during the first week of the month’s session.
