Traditionally, the university offers two voluntary options for staff interested in working fewer hours during winter and summer seasons. During those seasons, any interested and eligible staff may request to:

  1. Reduce their hours
  2. Take unpaid leave

As part of our COVID-19 response, we extended the eligible seasonal periods beyond summer and winter to include fall 2020. 

The newly extended eligible period to request reduced hours or unpaid leave is April 17, 2020 through December 31, 2020.

The dates are temporarily extended as an option for staff who may be navigating additional demands in their personal life during COVID-19 while also experiencing lower demands or volume levels at work.
