Are you feeling a certain kind of way but unsure how to describe it or where to start? You're not alone!

During these times of uncertainty, one of the most powerful things you can do is put a name on what you're feeling. Clinical psychologist Dr. Yvette Erasmus has a helpful way to think about our core needs. She writes, "instead of just saying 'needs,' depending on the context, it may be easier to use phrases like intrinsic motivators, values, desires, hungers, drives, or just getting to the essence of what matters."

When we're struggling, what we're usually trying to pinpoint are the core desires that flow through us, motivate us, and help us most thrive and survive in any given moment.

This tool for discovering core needs helps you do two important things:

  • Identify and prioritize your core needs and desires
  • Clarify actions that can help you meet those needs – the small daily and weekly habits or activities that could make a difference in cultivating more well-being in your life

Are you seeking some additional support with discovering core needs and how to turn them into small, doable habits? You can sign up for a free consult with one of our certified health and wellness coaches; we'd love to support you.
