73.1 Policy
  Any staff employee who is called for jury duty shall be granted time off to fulfill this responsibility.
  73.1.1 Any regular full-time or half-time staff employee will be granted time off with pay for such leave.
  73.1.2 Any staff employee eligible for jury duty must submit to the department head a copy of the call to jury duty as soon as possible after receipt.
  73.1.3 A regular full-time or half-time staff employee will continue to accrue vacation and temporary disability leave during jury duty time.
  73.1.4 The staff employee’s benefits will remain in effect during jury duty time.
  73.1.5 Upon completion of jury duty, the staff employee shall report to work at the beginning of the next regularly scheduled work period. If such duty does not require the full work period, the staff employee shall report for work as soon as practical with travel time consideration.
  73.1.6 A staff employee receiving jury duty pay is entitled to keep such pay.
73.2 Delegation
  The department head is responsible for receiving the copy of the call for jury duty and scheduling the employee’s time off.
73.3 Procedure
  73.3.1 A staff employee requiring leave for jury duty shall request the leave at the earliest possible date submit to the department head a copy of the call for jury duty.
